About J. Michaels

Mike_JimWelcome to J. Michaels Clothiers.

Is clothing important?
Sure.

Does it truly “make the man”?
Of course not.

But, a wardrobe is a visual extension of one’s image, and self expression is among the great joys of life.

When Abraham Maslow published “A Theory of Human Motivation” we doubt he gave much thought to men’s clothing. His “Hierarchy of Needs” theorized that lower needs must be satisfied before higher needs can be pursued.

We believe it’s a good philosophy for building a wardrobe that expresses individuality.

Like Maslow’s theory, we work with clients to build a wardrobe that starts with the basic requirements before fully actualizing your personal expression.

This may sound like hokum from a bunch of “good ol’ boys” from Nashville, the home of country music and red eye gravy, but we do take pride in the service we provide.

Whether a local music legend or corporate chairman, each client has a unique expression, our job is to ensure it is realized through their wardrobe.

This is why we found it difficult to expand our business online; thousands of online web sites offer every brand and style of clothing available.

Some will even guarantee “you will love the way you look”.

But how do they know?

Do they take the time to get to know their online clients and their needs?

Is there anyone behind those digital images that is truly interested that your individual style is attended to?

So we didn’t think the web made sense for guys, like us, who sell clothing one client at a time. But, desire, technology and Dr. Maslow may have just “shown us the way”.

By dividing our catalog into wardrobe needs, offering real-time consultations with a veteran Sales Associate we provide something hard to find online or in many stores…personal service.
We are going to love servicing you…we guarantee it.
